Why people are choosing to live in Incline Village, NV | Lake Tahoe

When it comes to buying a home in Lake Tahoe- there are a lot of factors you want to take into consideration. Asking yourself what Lake Tahoe community resonates with your lifestyle the most is the best place to start.

If you’re considering incline village, here are just a few reasons why people decide to purchase a home in this community.

  • Location
  • Amenities
  • Tax Benefits

These three things are the biggest draw to this town. To start, the location of Incline Village is perfectly situation on the northeastern corner of Lake Tahoe, giving it amazing sun exposure all day long. With that comes amazing sunsets that the west shore cannot offer. Not to mention, if you’re on an east facing part of any lake, after about 4 or 5pm, you’re stuck with shadows for the rest of the day once the sun sets over the mountains. It also comes in handy having Reno and Carson city about 30-45 minutes away. Costco trips, or just getting out of the mountains for a little bit is that much easier having these two cities nearby.

Secondly, the amenities Incline Village has to offer are second to none. Three beautiful, sandy beaches, two amazing 18 hole golf courses, a world class ski resort with amazing views of Lake Tahoe, and a Recreation Center with an olympic sized swimming pool, basketball court, fitness center, tennis courts, and more.

Lastly, and probably one of the main reasons why so many Californians choose this side of the lake is the tax benefits of being a Nevada resident. With zero income tax and zero corporate tax, along with very low property tax, Incline Village becomes the no brainer decision for those who want to enjoy all that Tahoe has to offer, AND save hundreds of thousands of dollars in state income tax.

Its no surprise that Incline Village Real Estate is some of the most expensive around the lake. With a median home price over $2,000,000- its definitely a pay to play kind of town.
