If your summer routine last year was "walk to Incline Beach, grab a sandwich at the snack bar, catch Music on the Beach on Friday," none of those three sentences still describes the same physical place. The village's summer center of gravity shifted fifty yards west for the season, a longtime dinner spot near the Hyatt reopened under new ownership, and Classical Tahoe scaled up for its fifteenth anniversary in a way that pulled tickets off the market faster than usual.
None of this is a crisis. It is a displacement. Residents who plan around it will have a better summer than the ones who show up expecting 2024.
The beach moved, and it will be moved for a while
The single biggest change to daily life in Incline this summer is the teardown of the beach house at Incline Beach. IVGID voted on December 10 to approve a design-build construction agreement with CORE Construction for the Incline Beach House Project at a budget of $9,415,617, around $1 million less than previous discussions. The project will replace the bathroom and food service building from the 1970s on Incline Beach, and include a bar and patio. Construction was set to begin at Incline Beach in mid-April; during construction the main entrance to Incline Beach closes, a temporary entrance opens nearby, but parking will be limited.
The knock-on effect residents feel most is the concert series. The "Music on the Beach" concert series relocated next door to Ski Beach for the 2026 season. Ski Beach is a different animal. It is one of the four restricted-access beaches within Incline Village, which are for the use of IVGID Picture Pass and Recreation Punch Card holders (with beach access), and their guests. If you have been getting away with fuzzy pass logistics for years, this is the summer that stops working.
Food and drink at the concerts also changed. Food and beverages will be available for purchase through the new Incline Surf Shack trailer at Ski Beach, and cash is not accepted. The district is asking people to carpool, bike, or walk if possible, and to use the dedicated walk-in gate at Ski Beach, west of the Ski Beach guard kiosk. The path of least resistance from most of the village is on foot. Drive and you will spend the first fifteen minutes of the show looking for a spot.
Austin's is Paxton's now, and that is a real change
The dining shift that will register with long-time residents is the space across from the Hyatt. The restaurant, which replaced Austin's, across the street from the Hyatt Regency, was taken over about five months ago by co-founders Cole Dunbar as Executive Chef and Jordan Armstrong as Beverage Director, who said they saw potential in the location. After an informal evaluation period, the partners decided to move forward, ultimately opting for a full reset that included new staff, a rebrand and a revamped menu. Paxton's Settlement is located at 120 Country Club Drive #24 in Incline Village.
The Championship Golf Course clubhouse is worth a second look this year as well. The Grille at The Chateau is open for the 2026 season, serving quality, fresh, wholesome ingredients during the golf season from mid-May through mid-October. New for 2026, The Grille will offer brunch specials every Sunday from 11am to 2pm in addition to the regular menu. Also new for 2026, IVGID Picture Pass holders receive 20% off food and nonalcoholic beverages at The Grille during the daily happy hour, 4 to 6 p.m. A discounted Champ course happy hour is one of the more underused local rituals available.
Elsewhere in the village, Bar La Loca and Sage Leaf on Tahoe Boulevard round out the sit-down options that show up on most locals' shortlists this summer, alongside Rosewood Pizzeria, FUMO, and Inclined Burgers and Brews.
Classical Tahoe is unusually dense this year, and mostly spoken for
The fifteenth anniversary programming is the other reason your July looks busier than usual. Classical Tahoe returns for its 15th season from July 11 to Aug. 9, featuring four weeks of orchestral, jazz and chamber music performances by more than 70 musicians from across the country. The festival opens July 11 at the Ricardi Pavilion at the University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe, with several performances already sold out or nearing capacity.

- Brubeck Legacy Concert featuring Jerry Bergonzi, July 12. The Brubeck Jazz Summit begins Sunday, July 12, at 7 p.m. with the Brubeck Legacy Concert featuring internationally acclaimed saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi, a former member of the Dave Brubeck Quartet.
- Brubeck Summit Sextet: Tahoe's Jazz All-Stars, July 16.
- Beethoven Sonatas with Gilles Vonsattel, July 19. A new addition to the Festival, this intimate recital features acclaimed pianist Gilles Vonsattel performing Beethoven sonatas in a private Incline Village residence.
- Fire and Fantasy, July 24, with Roman Rabinovich performing Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1.
- Music in Motion, July 25, with the Lake Tahoe Dance Collective.
- Landscapes in Sound, July 26. The Ron and Maureen Ashley Oasis Chamber Music Series returns to the Ashleys' lakefront estate in Incline Village with intimate performances at 7 p.m.; Landscapes in Sound opens the series Sunday, July 26.
- Chamber Connections, July 28, free. Chamber Connections pairs University of Nevada, Reno School of Music students with Classical Tahoe musicians for an immersive residency culminating in a free public performance on July 28.
- Passion and Spirit, August 1. Orchestral highlights include Passion and Spirit on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 7 p.m., exploring American musical traditions and spirituals through works by Verdi, Puccini, Florence Price and traditional spirituals.
- Classical Continuum with Emmanuel Ceysson, August 7. Emmanuel Ceysson is the Los Angeles Philharmonic principal harpist.
If you have not bought tickets by now, the free July 28 Chamber Connections concert is the residents' back-door option, and it is a good one.
Classical Tahoe is not the only music on the schedule. The Rock & Roll Summer Concerts – Incline Village take place on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Cornerstone Community Church, 300 Country Club Drive, organized by the Tahoe Symphony Orchestra. And the 2026 Incline Wine + Food event runs August 28 to 29, 2026, which is the traditional last-hurrah weekend before the season starts unwinding.
The weeknight anchors that hold the rest of the calendar together

Alibi Ale Works runs Karaoke Thursdays where you can choose your song or step up for blind karaoke roulette. Incline Public House hosts Friday night line dancing on the dance floor with cold beer. These are the shows nobody writes about and everyone actually goes to.
Golf, cleanups, and the shoulder-season markers
The two IV courses opened on their usual cadence. The Incline Village Championship Golf Course opened on Friday, May 8, while the Incline Village Mountain Golf Course opened on Friday, May 15, conditions permitting; typically the Mountain Course opens a bit later than the Championship Course due to the extra maintenance required for the higher-elevation course. With a top elevation of 7,025 feet above sea level, the Mountain Course is the highest-elevation golf course in the Lake Tahoe Basin and the entire state of Nevada. That elevation is why Mountain course tee times feel notably cooler in July than what you get at the Championship course a few hundred feet down the hill.
The season's back end is bookended by cleanups worth putting on the calendar. September 19, 2026 is The Great Sierra Cleanup at the Incline Village Recreation Center, with a Pollution Penguins and Diamond Peak Ski Team Cleanup at Diamond Peak Ski Resort from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. If you have been meaning to volunteer for something and have kids old enough to help, this is the low-friction one.
What the summer is asking of homeowners
The read for anyone who owns a home in Incline is simple. This year's disruption is temporary. The new beach house includes a bar and patio, which is a meaningful upgrade to the resident-facing amenity set for future summers, funded from money already accounted for in the district's fund rather than a new assessment. A new sit-down restaurant across from the Hyatt, a full-scale fifteenth-anniversary festival, and a Champ-course clubhouse serving Sunday brunch are the kinds of texture that make a mountain village feel less seasonal and more livable year over year.
The practical adjustments are worth making now. Get comfortable with the Ski Beach walk-in gate. Buy Classical Tahoe tickets before the shows you want are gone, or plan around the free July 28 concert. Put Wine + Food weekend on the calendar before house-guest season fills it for you. Treat The Grille happy hour as a real happy hour, not a golf-day accident.
